Now, since we have unsewn the seam, we have to make sure the split get tightened again.
So, start in one end and sew till you have fastened this end well enough.
When the cut is fastened, you can start sewing the rubber coating to the doll fabric. You don't have to sew around the whole opening, just sewing the ends of the thumb drive will do fine, as pictured below.
