How to make a WoW Private Server in 15 minutes!

Step 2 Map-data

You will need the WHOLE map-data of WoW (in 2.4.2 ca 941 MB, make sure you have enough space!). You can collect that from your WoW installed on your computer. Go to the "C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/ Tools/Map Extractor enUS" directory and copy "maps" and "ad.exe" to your directory (default: C:/Program Files/World of Warcraft/), then start "ad.exe". This app will collect the map-data (it takes some time).

Once it's done, copy the "maps" folder to the "C./AC Web Ultimate Repack/Server/Ascent/" directory.

Done? Right, next step.

So, i'm not sure if it's wrong, i haven't let it actually complete, but i let it run for a full day straight, i didn't screen what it was at, but it keeps saying "Creating output file maps/map_22673336.bin over and over, each time 0 of (more and more) tiles are available, is this usual?

when i try to run ad it pops up for half a sec and says "cannot find data/common.mpq-s" does anyone know how to fix this?

Excuse me, at this step the program stopped after it got through 17% of the Icecrown map. Can has help?

For people outside the US that gets an error when they open ad.exe, try using the enGB maps folder and enGB ad.exe instead of enUS. ;)

Well done guide, but at this step, I've got my doubts about the 15 minutes part: The copying is already taking more than 15 minutes, so maybe a title change would fit? Or is it taking so long cause I've got btc and wotlk?

your guide is very good! but i have one problem, when i run Ad.Exe the Commandthing opens and closes in 0.01 sec, i've been able to read ( by holding enter so i spam open the window ) and it says ( i think )

Yeah, mine does the same thing.
I took a screen shot of it, and found that this program only works for versions 3.0.0 and above.
Meaning, you most likely need WOTLK.
I only have to TBC, so, now I need to go and buy WOTLK so that this will work.
This is mainly because the file Data/common.MPQ-2 cannot be found in my version of WoW, so the program is terminating itself.
If you have TBC, then yeah, you'll need WOTLK.
If you have WOTLK, then maybe you need to update it a bit?
I'm not sure.

Try collecting the mapdata again. It should solve your problem, if not, you have to reinstall wow.

Btw i use Ultimate pack 9.0 cause i can't find the others :/ ( also tried 8.0 )
