How to make a folder invisible in Windows

How to make a folder invisible in Windows
So now and then, everyone has some file or folder of stuff they want to hide. Maybe it''s a hacking program, maybe it's porn, maybe it's computer games. I don't really care what. But sometimes, you aren't using your own computer, and you have something that you want to be able to access easily without anyone else seeing it. You could always encrypt it, true, but encrypted disk partitions tend to stick out on public computers, not to mention it takes a minute to mount them.

But, windows has a handy feature that lets you make a folder totally invisible to the casual looker. Unless you know where to click, you can't tell it's there. And no, it's not that silly "make this a hidden folder" checkbox in the properties.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT SECURE. IF THE GOVERNMENT IS ACTIVELY SIFTING THROUGH YOUR FILES LOOKING FOR SOMETHING BIG, THIS WILL BE FOUND.
Depending on how much data you intend to hide, it may or may not stick out to sysadmins or parents. I suggest only using this to hide something that will take up non-obvious amounts of disk space, unless the person you're hiding from is lazy and/or not very tech savvy. Also, this will not protect illegal things; anyone who knows where the folder is can get at it. The only trouble is finding it.

Make a new folder. This isn't too difficult, provided your mother didn't drink too much while she was pregnant. If she did, refer to the attached picture for detailed instructions.
