Introduction: How to Make a Holiday Honeybun Cake.
This amazing honeybun cake has always been a family favorite with my folks for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Maybe it can become one for your family as well!
Step 1: STEP ONE: FETCH YOUR INGREDIENTS
Because you can't make a cake without ingredients, silly! :)
- 1 package yellow cake mix
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup water
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
Step 2: STEP TWO: MIX YOUR INGREDIENTS
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Take the yellow cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water, sour cream, brown sugar, and cinnamon and place them into a large mixing bowl. Use an electronic mixer or a large spoon to combine ingredients.
Step 3: STEP THREE: MAKE THE GLAZE
Place the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract and place into a SEPARATE BOWL and mix with a spoon. Make sure that the glaze is free of any and all powdered sugar clumps.
Step 4: STEP FOUR: BAKE IT!
Get out a pan to put your cake batter in. Using some sort of vegetable oil or spray oil, slick up the pan and pour the cake batter into it. Once the oven has heated to 350 degrees, place the cake in the oven. Set your timer for 30 to 35 minutes.
Step 5: STEP FIVE: FINISH IT OFF
Take the cake out of the oven. Place a toothpick in the center and remove. If it does not come out clean, put the cake back in the oven and bake for a few more minutes.
If the toothpick does come out clean, use a fork to poke holes in the cake. Then, pour your glaze over the top of it. Tad-ah! You now have a delicious holiday honeybun cake that your family members are sure to love!
