Step 1: Tools and materials:
-"opal green" & white Fimo clay (or any other brand of polymer clay)
-black, grey, and green chalk pastels
-clear nail polish
-a rolling pin
-a make-up sponge
-a sewing needle
plastic wrap & duct tape (to protect your desk)
Step 2: Lets get started!
Roll a small piece of white clay between your flat palms into a long cylinder, then stretch it until it's thin enough.
Use the toothpick to sculpt the leaf veins as in the picture (make sure the veins decrease in diameter & length)
(This part is extremely repetitive)
Once you're done with this "skeleton", keep it away and clean your hand or it might ruin the green clay.
Cover your tools with plastic wrap while cutting out the ivy leaf shape (so to save time cleaning up later), then remove the excess clay. (smooth the edges with your fingers)
Use the end of a makeup brush handle to carve the leave to carve the leaf from center to edges.
Sculpt some more leaf veins by scratching the clay with a toothpick like a mad-person... 8)
Step 4: Colouring the leaf...
Apply grey pastel powder on the leaf veins with a make-up sponge.
Use a small make-up brush to darken the center of the leaf with deep black pastel powder and apply light green colour on the edges...
Heavily apply black powder (again) between the leaf veins.
Press down a long and thin cylinder of white clay, then darken it with the metallic grey pastel powder.
