How to make a projection screen that's also a painting

Step 8Lessons learned

Lessons learned
I'm quite pleased with the end result, but it was a lot more work than I'd expected. The only thing that's still bugging me are the corners. I'm thinking of putting a piece of sheet metal around each corner to cover up the actual joint if I only can figure out how to make it look good. I will probably paint it black as well and would welcome suggestions on how to best make the paint stick to the metal.

Anyways, the joints on the inner frame and the outer one are really the only two thing I would have made different if I did it again. Now go forth and make even nicer paintings!

Do you get any light bouncing from the back of your painting, And onto the projection screen?

I would imagine some light would try to bounce like that, But maybe your material is too thick for that.

Love this instructable, Thanks.

Great job, thanks for the idea. One thing a painter told me on a jobsite was "caulk and paint make it what it 'aint!"

Latex Caulk. It's what many carpenters use to seal the seams between the wall base trim in houses. You could also use filler putty, but it's a bit more fragile.

Nice 'ible, you can get Binding corners for boxes that look nice, they'd do well, they're usually galvanized steel...
