Introduction: How to Make a Quote Canvas

Looking for a project to do on a rainy day? This project is perfect! It doesn't take long and you can personalize it anyway you want!
Most of the time people find quotes on signs and think they are cool, but may not like the quote. This is perfect to get the quote you want! It is fairly cheap and only takes a few hours.

Step 1: Gather Materials

You will need:
1. A blank canvas (any size)
2. Paint (any color)
3. Stick on letters
4. Paint brush
5. Sharp edge
6. Something to put paint on

Note: The canvas should be big enough to fit the quote you want on it. It doesn't have to be an expensive canvas either. Any canvas of any size will do perfectly. It is up to you. Also the paint can be any color you want. If you want it to be more than one color that is perfectly fine!

Step 2: Pick a Quote

Pick a quote:

The main part of this project is putting a quote on the canvas. If you can't come up with one you like on your own you can either:
           a) look online, there are many good quote websites
           b) look in a quote book

I picked something my mother says to me all the time.

Step 3: Put Letters on Canvas

Spell out your quote on the canvas using the stick on letters.

Step 4: Paint Your Canvas

Now you get to paint your canvas!

1) Gently paint over the stick on letters to ensure they stay put while painting the rest of the canvas
2.) Paint the rest of the canvas.

You may need another coat of paint. If so let dry then paint on a second coat.

Step 5: Let Dry

Let the canvas dry.

Tip: For best results let dry over night.

Step 6: Remove Letters

Remove stick on letters.
You may need to use a sharp edge to remove them if you do:
         1) Gently slide sharp edge under the corner of a letter
         2) Slowly pull letter up from canvas
         3) Discard letter in trash can

There is a possibility that some paint leaked under the letters. If this happens the letters wont be very crisp or readable. To fix this you can paint inside the letters with a different color.

Step 7: Conclusion

Congratulations! You now have a personalized quote canvas!
