Introduction: Tired of Playing the Same Old Games? Try Making Your Very Own Set of Beersbee Poles!
Beersbee is a backyard game that not many have heard of or had the chance to play. These instructions will give you step by step directions on how to build your very own set. Now you will be able bring some excitement to the next party or tailgate that you attend, and wow all of your friends and family!

Step 1: Materials and Tools Needed
Materials Needed
(1) 10 foot section of 2" PVC pipe
(2) 2" inside diameter PVC couplings
(2) Glass bottles
(1) Frisbee
Tools Needed
Measuring tape
Permanent marker
Miter saw or handsaw made for cutting plastic
PCV joint compound
Step 2:
You first want to lay out the 10 foot section of 2" PVC and mark a line at the 5 foot mark. This mark will serve as your cut line.
Step 3:
Using the miter box or handsaw (whichever you prefer or have at your availability) carefully cut along the line, cutting the 10 foot PVC into two 5 foot section.
Step 4:
Taking one of the sections of PVC, lay it out and mark out a line that angles from one side to the other side. Use the picture below for your guidance/reference. This will serve as the spike, allowing you to drive the pole into the ground making it stable when playing the game. (Repeat line on both poles)
Step 5:
Again, using the miter box or handsaw cut along the line that you previously marked, creating the angle. This is where a miter box is to your advantage, because it can easily and more carefully cut angles.
Step 6:
Because the glass bottle does not sit nicely upon the top of the pole as it is now, it helps if you place a coupling on top of the pole that allows the bottle to sit more stable. Spread some of the joint compound on the inside of the coupling, and slide it over the top of the pole, making sure it is level. (Repeat on both poles)
Step 7:
After allowing the compound to dry, you are now ready to play! Or are you? Included in these instructions is also a quick guide to on how to play the game!
Step 8: Set Up
• Games is played with 2 teams of 2
• Each player must have a drink in his or hand at all times
• Poles must be 40 feet apart, but can be moved close if felt necessary
• Each team stands behind one of the poles
• A bottle must be freely placed upon the pole so that if it hit, it can fall to the ground.
Step 9: Game Play
• Players take turns throwing the Frisbee
• Teams must stand behind fault line. (See court diagram for reference)
• Team must wait for Frisbee to completely pass the pole before catching it.
• You must catch the Frisbee to avoid losing 1 point, unless the Frisbee is deemed uncatchable
• Throws that are deemed uncatchable or outside the catching area are not awarded a point.
• If the bottle is hit, 1 point is automatically awarded to the throwing team
• If the bottle hits the ground, 1 point is awarded to the throwing team
• If the Frisbee hits the pole, and is not caught, but the bottle remains, 1 point is awarded to the throwing team
• If everything is dropped, besides the drink in hand, 4 points will be awarded.
• Players must have a drink in their hands at all times. If a player does not have a drink , or the drink is dropped, 2 points will be awarded to the opposite team
• Game is played to 21 points, with a win by 2 points.
Step 10: Scoring
• Frisbee drop = 1 point
• Bottle hit = 1 point
• Bottle hit ground = 1 point
• Frisbee hits pole and is not caught, but bottle stays = 2 point
• Bottle hit and everything drops (not including drink) = 4 points
• No drink or dropped drink = 2 points
Step 11: Warnings
Much care should be taken when using any type of saw or cutting tool. If you do not have the experience when it comes to cutting, ask for help!
The game of beersbee does not need to be played with an alcoholic beverage. Any beverage will suffice.
If you do choose to consume alcoholic beverage, DRINK RESPONSIBLY!
