Introduction: How to Make a Small Speaker for an Ipod

About: hi hi hi hi hi hi

Hello!
In this instuctable, I will show you how to make a simple speaker arrangement you can make for an ipod or any other mp3 player. You should have a very basic understanding of wiring going into this.

Step 1: Materials

Here is a list of materials needed:
-Ipod (touch is what i used, so it is larger than most)
-Aluminum
-1 or 2 speakers- I have no idea where i got mine, i think they were fom old toy cars. They were lying around
-Wire
-Headphone jack- Stolen from airplane headphones
-scissors
-hot glue
-soldering gun

Step 2: Cutting It to Size

Here you will want to cut the aluminum to size. Start by cutting it to the correct width, while still allowing room for the speaker. After you have it cut to size, trace an outline of the speakers where you want them to be placed. Then make another circle slightly inside the traced one. This will be the one you cut because you want to allow a "shelf" for the speakers to sit on. WARNING!! The cutting portion of this can be dangerous as aluminum is SHARP. I started out the cutting by using a screw driver and punched some holes in the aluminum to allow the scissors to get on the inside without cutting the border. Look at the pictures for more detail.

Step 3: Wiring

Sorry, but I forgot to take a picture of the jack. I don't think it is too complicated and you should know how to do it if you are doing this instructable. Just connect one wire to one of the connections for the speaker, adn the other wire to the other speaker connector

Step 4:

These side plates to cover up the edges are optional. Other than that, YOU ARE DONE!
