In this instructable I am going to show you how to make an awesome snowboard bike. It is made out of a snowboard, a bike and a few other bits and pieces.

Materials needed:
Snowboard (no bindings needed)
2 25cm hinges
2 15 cm hinges
1 steel bar 40×400×10mm
1 small piece of plywood 80×50mm
6 2 cm bolts
6 2.5cm bolts
1 7.5cm bolt
2 10mm bike axels.

Tools needed:
hacksaw or angle grinder
clamps or vice
flat head screwdriver
adjustable cresent

Step 1: Get a Bike

First find a suitable bike.
I used an old mountain bike that I found at the local recycling centre, but you can use a bmx or pretty much any other kind of bike. Next remove all uneeded parts like brakes, shifters, wheels and crankarms etc.

I decided to make this. I used an old Schwinn Exercise bike, which made it easier, as it bolted flat to the board. There's no turning, so I'm hoping that leaning will turn it. It'll be fun to try.

Cool! My dad made one of these way back in the early 1960's. They were called Snow Bobs back then. No, I don't know why. My dad's Snow Bob was raised a bit higher though. He extended the forks and the rear of the bike so that he could place foot pegs on it and made it so that you didn't feel like you were squatting on the bike.

They were SO much fun! I grew up in Aspen, Colorado, so we had a plethora of ski areas where we could fly down the mountains and have a day full of fun. Very cool to see one of these again. Of course, we didn't have the wide snowboards back then that you used here in your Instructable, we just used regular skis and they worked just fine. Yours looks like it might even handle powder really well. Thanks for your Instructable. Again...very cool! Brings back a lot of wonderful memories.

Where do you put your feet? front, back, or middle?

you have skis on your feet! like in Better Off Dead!

How could this accident have been prevented… lol just kidding dude thisis prtty slick

Does it ride well?
Yea really well.
Recently got 2 'of snow and it goes awesome.
It slides on top of the snow and you can get going really fast.
At high speeds you sometimes get the speed wobbles.
I made a 2'jump out of plywood and it's awesome but once I bent the handlebars when I landed.
