   What you need

  -wood
  -knife
  -(optional) carving glove
  -(optional) twine or thin rope

    First chose a piece of wood.

this instructable is nice, but it definately can be better. referencing to advantages and drawbacks of such a weapon (or cutting tool) would be much appreciated, because i certainly don't want to use something like this for cutting my steak in the evening...

It seems misleading to call this a 'knife' or 'machete', you're better off calling it a shiv.
