please add more details! I also would like to know where to get the vegan chocolate chips...

If you are near a Trader Joe's, there semi sweet choc chips are vegan, and WHole Food's 365 brand is vegan, and they carry other brands that are vegan. Otherwise, you can search on Amazon, and they carry them or go to http://www.veganessentials.com for any and all vegan supplies you might need!

Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit harsh to make a cake out of vegans? :>

Well, they have a stringy texture so it's kind of a lose-lose situation.

Hey it's ok! I hear it's boneless.

just a kind note regarding the sugar in the picture...
it is not exactly vegan, as c&h pure cane granulated white sugar is processed through bone char... although c&h pure cane RAW or turbinado sugar is NOT processed through bone char so that could be used instead, i'm sure.

From the picture you have shown it looks like this recipe might work better as a cupcake recipe. You should probably add more steps and pics next time. I may try this recipe for the neighbors down the street.
