Introduction: How to Make an Autowatering System With Household Items

About: Electrical and computer engineering at National Technical University of Athens.... Karate Athlete

Are you planning to go on a holiday but you don't have anyone to water your plants during this time period?
Instead of buying an expensive auto watering system you can make one with materials that you can find in any house
This system is based in simple physics and in the theory of communicating vessels.
With this system you can water only plants in a flower pot
This system can be used only in flowerpotts that are in an indoor place or somewhere that sun doesn't reach
I designed all the pictures shown in this instructable with google sketchup

Step 1: Materials and Tools

Material
1st:A Flower pot
2nd:A rope or some bandage
3rd:A Big bucket(you can use any size you want but the bigger bucket will have more duration)
4th:A nail

Tools
1st:A Hammer
2nd:A pair of Scissors

And of course some water

Step 2: Attach the Bucket on the Wall

Attach the bucket on the wall with the hammer and the nail
You must attach the bucket higher than the flower pot

Step 3: Put the Rope Into the Water

Put the one side of the rope into the water and try making it steady
Now put the other side into the soil of the flower pot

Step 4: How It Works

The plant will take the humidity it needs from the water through the rope
The more water the bucket contains, the more duration this system will have

Step 5: Final Product

This is the final product
