<p>Real cinnomon 100% pure without any other ingeridents. </p>
<p>Here fresh and expensive cinnamon from powder and sticks. The total concentration of oil was 11 g of 2%. So a yeild of 0.22 g.</p>
<p>It makes not a perfume but an interesting repellant (In theory).</p>
<p>Here is 8.1 g pure cocoa with mint to get a perfume of cocoa mint. It aroma if it works will be interesting.</p>
<p>Since I used 200 ml of volume of mint and assuming that at 130 degrees C all the oil dissolved and was distilled then I would have at 2% a total of 93 mg oil.</p>
<p>Here I am extracting at 2% about 7.2 g of mint leaves which gives me 140 mg mint oil. My scale goes down to 0.1 g so if I use 50 ml I will not be able to measure the calculated oil. That is my limit.</p>
<p>Trying 2.00 g of lime peel powder being extracted at 2% of the oil for a few hours. </p>

<p>Silly of me but ceder contains 1-2% of oils in the leaves. 15-40% in the tree. The scale before was acting a bit funny so maybe 0.3 g was not acceptable (Ooops). I did this again and got 0.1 g of oil by re boiling fresh leaves. A larger 500 ml beaker gave errors and that what i used. A 100 ml beaker may be more useful.</p>
<p>In fact the label of the cinnomin said trace amounts of sesame seeds. This is probably the reason for the baka lava odor.</p>
<p>I made a bit of the distillate. It smells like Baka lava. Maybe the ammonia lauryl sulfate had NO effect and it is due to the Process of cinnamon. This could indicate impure or contaminated oils from other nuts are in the cheaper cinnamon powder.</p>
<p>20.8 g of cinnamon at a yeild of 2%.</p>
<p>Here is a new attempt to extract 20.8 g of cinnamon oil from powdered cinnnamon without soap. In theory the cinnamon has 2% of this oil. Boiling chips were added to prevent over boiling.</p>
<p>After measuring exactly 50 ml and carefully with a pipette remove the top oil layer I measured the weight to be 0.3 g.</p><p>0.3 g*6 = 1.8 g oil/9 g *100% = 20% est ceder oil.</p>

<p>Ceder oil from ceder can give oil at 15-40%. I am assuming 15% oil. So 9 g would give 1.35 g total. </p>
<p>I was thinking that a proper Sohlet distiller may be able to get close to 30% of the oil by mass out of the powder seeds. This is because you could use ethanol, etc to distill and separate the oil. (In theory). Then add TEC (Tetrachloroethylene) or Hexane to seperate the oil.</p>
<p>Here I seperated the oil from water and weighed out 100 ml of oil from water. It weighed 1.00 g. So for 300 ml total I got 3 g of oil.</p><p>3.00 g /33.00 g *100% = 9% mustard oil by weight.</p>
<p>Here is mustard oil being extracted through steam distillation. You can see a bit of the yellow oil with water.</p>
<p>133-100 g (beaker) = 33 g mustard seed powder oops.</p>
<p>Here is mustard scent perfume with mustard smelling compounds. It may be used as an insect repellent. 103 g of mustard about, 30% of the powder is mustard oil.</p>

<p>Here I am making 300 ml exact of 27 g of artifical lemon pie powder. It contains around 2% of ethyl formate (i think) and maybe some lemon oil.</p>
<p>It sort of smells like baklava . smelling.... purified with small amounts of Tetrachoroethylene (TEC). The TEC helps purify the oil.</p>

<p>The same 300 ml of soap water boiling with 20.9 g of cinnommon powder. The soap helps at temp (steam 80 degrees C) from preventing a lot of foam from occuring.</p>
<p>Here is making cinnamon oil from 20.9 g of cinnamon with soap. The soap helps prevent any foaming from occurring. Water and oil are the only thing that will distill over.</p>
<p>Here is a perfume with Nutmeg were 10 g of glycerin with 70 g Nutmeg per 500 ml ethanol (100 ml amount). The nutmeg is sol in glycerin and ethanol. It was made by soaking 500 ml of 95% ethanol with 70 g nutmeg for a few months.</p>

<p>A good surfactant is sodium stearate which can be bought or made by adding luke warm lye solution 5% to equal concentration of stearic acid. This will prevent over boiling and bubbling over the condenser. Be careful if you plan to do this as lye is highly corrosive to skin, mucus membranes and eyes.</p>
<p>Another perfume that is interesting is the chemical Piperidine found in black peppers at a concentration of 5%. It very soluble in water and boils at 100 degree C. It makes a pepper smelling perfume.</p>
<p>You may have to add a bit of soap (surfactant) to prevent foaming.</p>

<p>Here is the beginning of the making of fruit punch perfume. It contains less concentrated esters than others that I have made.</p>
<p>Here is a distillation setup of berry-pineapple-fruit punch with 5 esters that make it smell like that. Active ingredients 160 mg of these sub min. This makes very unique perfume.</p>
<p>I have made artificial orange odor from Tang and other types of aroma including dilute coffee smelling perfume too. Without ethanol and glycerol the aroma quickly breaks down (You can tell by smelling it).</p>
<p>Real color after boiling for 6-7 hours.</p>
<p>I put it on me and after a while I can smell the pineapple scent. Cool eh.</p>
<p>Here I added 1% methyl butryate (which smells like Pineapple at 50 ml with 100 ml of ethanol 95% with 10 g of glycerol. It still needs more pineapple extract though. It smells like ethanol-pineapple aroma.</p>
<p>Are you just smelling from the bottle? If you dab a bit on your wrist the ethanol should evaporate and just leave the pineapple scent.</p>
<p>I am going to make vodka-pineapple perfume from perfume, 100 ml distillate, 200 ml ethanol 95% and glycerol. Here the first step. Aroma at 1% =0.646 g Methyl butyrate. Different artifical and natural drink mixes can be used.</p>

<p>Pure alcohol is better, I just suggested vodk because it is easier to come by.</p>
