Introduction: How to Make Salt Dough Christmas Ornaments.

• 2 parts All Purpose Flour
• 1 part Table Salt
• 1 part Water (luke warm)

In a large bowl mix salt, flour & water. Mix well until it forms a doughy consistency. Add extra flour or water as needed until the texture resembles Playdough. Then kneed it for at least 5 minutes. The longer you kneed your dough the smoother it will be.

Roll out to a thickness of about 1/8" and cut out with cookie cutters. You could also cut out shapes with a knife and/or press designs into the dough with any number of techniques. Be creative!

You can air dry the ornaments, or they can also be dried in the oven. Bake at 150-200°F until dry. It could take anywhere between 1 and 3 hours depending on the thickness of the ornaments. Higher temperatures will dry the ornaments faster, but it may also brown them.

The ornaments can be painted with acrylic paint and sealed with a clear coat of polyurethane or varnish.
