Picture of How to Make Your Dry Ice at Home

Hi
i show how to create the dry ice with a fire extinguisher (CO2)

BE CAREFUL FOR THIS PROJECT , BECAUSE THE CO2 CAN CREATE BURNS

Step 1: You Need...

Picture of You Need...

For this project you need:
-Fire extinguisher (ONLY CO2 BE CAREFUL)
-Pillowcase
-snow gloves

Step 2: Start

the first thing to do remove the security of the fire extinguisher

Step 3: The Pillowcase

put on your snow glove.
grab the pillowcase and put in the mouth of the extinguisher

Step 4: Be Careful

in this step you must be very careful..

when your pillowcase is on fire extinguisher pull the lever until the fire extinguisher is emptied...
now the Co2 solidified in the pillowcase

Step 5: Finish

Picture of Finish

collect your dry ice in a metal bowl, unfortunately, you can not preserve...because it will melt very quickly...

then use for your experiments, before it melt

thank you for your attention

do it outside. CO2 displaces the air that you need in order to live. Most rooms in the house are too small.

NEVER do this in the basement, or any place a gas fired water heater is. Since CO2 is HEAVIER than air, it can extinguish a pilot light (this IS a fire extinguisher, remember), and gas can fill your house AND KILL EVERYONE IN IT!!!

So, just do it outside.

Do it with a halon or nitrogen extinguisher.

we used tp have tp do this in physics lessons tp get dry oce for tje cloud chamber or other experiments. I guess health and safety would have a fit if they tried ot now and I doubt if students are allowed to handle radioactive sources anymore either
