How to make your own Deadmau5 Mau5head!

Step 2Mapping everything out

Mapping everything out
Take out one of the panels of the ball so it won't roll away from you (don't throw away the panel, you'll need it later). Take two sheets of paper and sketch out a the shape of the mouth. take your styrofoam ball and slice it in half. Take your two plates of birch baltic wood and slide them in two the holes of the ball. tape everything with masking tape and predict how everything will turn out. The top of mouth should be at the equator of the ball and it should be spread side to side.

i built mine with black felt so you can't see any mistakes made on the fabric. I also put 10 feet of el wire around the head and mouth as well as yellow led's in the eyes. It's my FB profile pic. Any how you'll want 4" eye balls, and if you spend 2-4 hours a day for 5-7 days you'll be well past finished. If you manage to find extra time toy around with electronic wiring and minor touch ups to improve the look of it. I'm thinking about building another one out of an acrylic ball thats 14". its pretty expensive but i have extras from the first one. Please ask questions, this demo is a little tough to understand at some areas
