How to mod Halo PC

I know theres some people out there still playing halo pc. Im one of them. One day i got bored and decided to start modding to make gameplay fun or to show it off in a video. this video shows what a good modder can accomplish.

(by me :P)

Step 1: HMT or HHT

Halo Modding Tools or Halo Hacking Tools

I personally use HMT 3.5

your gonna want the plugins they allow you to mod more things

Put the plugins in the HMT plugins folder (makes sense)

I modded the Infinity map so the rocket launcher fires 50 rockets per shot.

I also made the banshees go disturbingly fast.

Another fun thing is to add colored fog. :D

Well, I tried using HMT again today, but when I try to modify the bullet spread or RPS I get a pop-up that says,"Error trying to update and write structure."

Um... What do i do?

Ignore it. Most times, this is because you completely emptied the data field, or entered an invalid character.

When I'm entering negative numbers, I get this error only when the hyphen is in the data field alone. As soon as I add the numbers, it is fixed.

your mods probbablly are a little to much for the map to handle, there is another way to make them do whatever you want without oit shutting down, i think its called sparkle-ing the map... idk, thats just form me modding a few years ago.

When i attempt to open Halo Map Tools, my computer pops up a message saying:

by ce do you mean combat evolved? as in, we can't use our mods on halo combat evolved, but we can use our on halo custom edition.

can someone help me with hmt???
all i wanted to do was turn up the rate of fire of the pistol in the bloodgulch file
so here is what i did

"open file" (bloodgulch.map) then i went to +[weap] weapons/pistol/pistol
the drop own menus that say "clip" and "projectile" i put to 0
so all the original numbers came up

then i just changed the clip size a little bit and turned the ROF up a little bit
now what do i do?

click the "save" button under "tag information" ??
cuz when i do that and try to play, it says i need to reinstall halo

never run into that before... reinstalling halo always works for me
