Introduction: How to Mod Halo PC
heres another on its ben out there a while just decided to put it on instructables
This one also has better skins that i made and i am considering on makin an ible on it if u want me to comment on it
Step 1: HMT or HHT
Halo Modding Tools or Halo Hacking Tools
I personally use HMT 3.5
HMT download : http://halo2.filefront.com/file/Halo_Mapping_Tools_Version_35;37863
your gonna want the plugins they allow you to mod more things
Plugins : http://halo2.filefront.com/file/HMT_35_Plugins_Pack;65046
Put the plugins in the HMT plugins folder (makes sense)
Step 2: Open Up HMT
First off start up HMT
Now before we go on press the windows button and "e" or windows explorer
go to OS>Program Files>Microsoft Games>Halo
make a new folder named BACKUP
Copy everything in the maps folder and paste into BACKUP
this is for when you want to revert back to normal halo gameplay
okay continuing... Go back to HMT and go to Open>OS>Program Files>Microsoft Games>Halo>Maps
Open up a multiplayer map like bloodgulch
Step 3: Modding
After opening up a map you may be overwelmed with all the tags (dont be)
It just takes carefull reading and a little know how.
Lets star with projectile swapping very simple find the tag [proj] and click the little plus next to it and sub folders should open up
Find weapons\rocket launcher\rocket click it
there should be a box between swap and revert with some numbers and letters in it copy them
then find weapons\assault rifle\bullet click it and paste in the box you copyed the other info from
click save next to the revert button
Step 4: Ta Daa!
Close HMT and open halo play blood gulch and the assault rifle will shoot rocket launcher rockets!
When you play online with these mods they will only work if you are the host of the game
Have fun and expirement
if you ever start halo and get a box saying exception data just paste your files in the backup folder into the MAPS folder to fix it
You can also look up other tutorials on modding and get more in depth
We have a be nice policy.
Please be positive and constructive.
