How to remove Security Tool Virus off your computer.

How to remove Security Tool Virus off your computer.
This instructable will tell you how to remove security tool off of your PC.

Security tool is a Malware program that tries to scare you into buying the full version, by showing you a list of (fake) nasty looking files. the full version is worst. do not let it run.

If anything other then your trusted anti-virus tells you to delete viruses or download or buy anything at all, it is most likely trying to scam you into probably more popups.

You probably know by now, that it is hard to get rid of. luckily, i had a worst case scenario, so this will most likely help.

Below is what security tool will look like, and you had better print a pdf in case you need to go into safe mode.

Hope this works for you! :)

Step 1Some precautions

Some precautions

These are some precautions to take beforehand.

Since prevention is the best thing for you to do, if you see a virus warning, heed it.

If you dont have an antivirus and just trust windows, hackers try to get around that first, so...

I reccommend Avast! antivirus by alwil. its pretty simple. i dont reccommend moving items to the chest all the time. it could still infect by the rule of property. (If a protagonistic item is in antagonistic property, its personal security is no more. E.G. a safe is locked with a super duper double locked with an alarm system. a robber need only to take the safe with him, and deal with it in his comfy hideout, with his tools at the ready. Thus, if an object is quarentined by an antivirus, its a match of strength. Since the security tool usurps windows by making it believe that it is trustworthy, its avast vs. dll's, plus it being within avasts security. (the walls are made of wwhat?))
deleting is better, but with ST, just leave it be unless its downloading.

First stop, restart your computer (*WARNING* you might want to print this to save alot of time)
WHILE restarting your computer, after the machine starts up, before the windows screen starts up, just tap F8 really quickly to start safe mode (any time or when little dash on top left corner is flashing.
select safe mode or safe mode with networking.

Good Day! i need some help. I have just removed(or so i thought) Security Master AV on my computer. It turned my firewall on and it seems to be irreversible. It says "Security Master AV currently ON" under the Firewall tab. My windows firewall is already OFF. I'm in a network that's why i need to turn my firewall off so i could share files more easily. Please help! Do i need to delete something on the registry? Thanks!

I got something like this once, except it popped up and automatically started downloading (I was away from the computer while the offending site loaded, caught the tail end of the download). I forget the name, but it was very nasty. Had to mess around in the registry eventually to delete the thing (it made a  few registry entries that were preventing it from being fully deleted or something).

I got Security Tools on one of my computers, called Norton's after I tried everything I knew, to get rid of it, after a half hour on the phone, Norton's wanted me to BUY some program to get rid of it............I told them Norton's should have caught the problem...they said "New viruses are coming out every day, we can't stop everything".......Security tools has been around for awhile, it just did not show up in the last couple of months.......I saved all my program files to the slave drive.......wiped the Master and reinstalled XP......
Moved most of the programs back to the Master, or reinstalled what I could not......there was nothing on the computer that I could not live without......Took about 3 hours, but it was better than spending $150 to BUY a program from Norton's..........

You're safer to format and reinstall.

Thats why if you have irreplaceable data, you should back it up because things like this happen (If you're stupid enough).

Yeah sure, you can do a quick fix, but it just so happens that the malware could have opened up other exploits and instability's in your system.

And it doesn't take hours of work to reformat.

Whoever you bought your computer from should have given you a disc upon purchase.

Avast is a great AV - I thoroughly recommend it.

It may be worth putting in a general warning in big letters along the lines of  "If anything other than the anti-virus program you installed says your computer is infected, never, ever click on the options they offer.  Immediately close the browser session and stay away from that site in the future."

Some of this reads a bit random like Then go to your name, local settings, temp, and delete .bat files like a, b, c, d, e, and f. like a.bat b.bat c.bat ba.bat. so on. also delete that web page, and any other EXE's or BAT's that look suspicious.

But since it doesn't look like and easy job you did well with it.

Yes, it's tough but you have the advantage of actual experience - always useful. Read a bit from elsewhere on the internet to refresh your memory, you'll be able to sharpen it up.
