I've got a smaller one, about 2/3 the size of this one and its so much better for carving and a lot more portable. I think that these are a lot more clumsy and are a lot harder to use than mine. however I can't do tricks on mine. so you compromise.

You can't do tricks on yours?!What hinders you from doing tricks?
Thor007 in reply to bylerfamilyAug 4, 2009. 5:19 PM
its just so small its about 2/3 the size of that. so my weight has to be more centerd over the wheels.
bylerfamily in reply to Thor007Aug 27, 2009. 12:27 PM
You must have the wave ripple. My friend has one of them and I can still do tricks on it.

Xander da gr8 (author) in reply to mackintoshlinesslessMar 14, 2009. 6:08 PM
you have to get up some speed first and keep pumping! its very difficult!
anarki121 says: Dec 30, 2008. 5:44 PM
well once u really master the real way to ride it then this can be pretty simple

when i do a hang10 or ollie i mostly lose control, what should i do bout it
Xander da gr8 (author) in reply to globeOct 19, 2008. 6:42 AM
I still haven't perfected an ollie yet, so I can't really help THAT much. If you turn in circles when you hang 10 or 9 go slower and try to distribute your weight evenly along the front or back of the ripstik. Tell me if you need more help, I can post a video to help if you need me to.
globe in reply to Xander da gr8Oct 19, 2008. 2:16 PM
can you post a video
Xander da gr8 (author) in reply to globeOct 19, 2008. 4:06 PM
There you go, I posted a new video in the step Hang 10 and Hang 9. I hope it helps. All it is, is me doing hang tens from 5 different angles. You should look at my foot position and weight distribution to help you.

I'm soooo mad. I got a green ripstick for christmas... And I've been to a few stores... they have super cool ripsticks with decals and stuf,
Xander da gr8 (author) in reply to FlumpkinsAug 29, 2008. 8:14 PM
Most of those were probably waveboards, I don't like waveboards as much because they are heavier and not as good for tricks. If you use it to go to school or something like that you should probably get a waveboard, but otherwise i reccomend a ripstik.
Flumpkins in reply to Xander da gr8Aug 29, 2008. 8:59 PM
No, they were Ripsticks
Xander da gr8 (author) in reply to FlumpkinsAug 30, 2008. 9:19 AM

I thought your Instructable was great, but I think you should have shown the different ways to put your feet on the ripstik when you are starting it. I'm "Goofy Footed", so I start with my left foot at the back of the board and push off with my right foot. One of my friends starts with his left foot on the front of the board and pushes off with his right foot and then puts his right foot on the back. There are multiple ways to ride the Ripstik/waveboard, I picked the way that was most comfortable to me. It all depends on which of your legs is dominant. (My right leg is dominant I think)
Xander da gr8 (author) in reply to Sceptre22inAug 29, 2008. 8:11 PM
Actually, it doesn't matter which foot is dominant. I don't know how it works. I have a righty friend whos "regular" also. It is just what's comfortable.
