A power supply unit is a a box that powers your Desktop PC and runs all the components you have hooked up on the motherboard... But lets just say your computer stops working and you want to know if the power supply is bad or the motherboard is bad??? or maybe you want to test out a component you bought off ebay or something... So in this tutorial I will show you how to start a PSU with a paper clip!!!

Paperclip
Something to test the PSU

A more user friendly way to turn the PSU on and off would e to use the little toggle switch at the back of the box where your mains supply lead is. Saves having to worry about prematurely starting your devices if you're not quite ready ;)

This PSU doesn't have a toggle switch but that is also another way to start it... Thanks for suggesting :)

This is also a good idea when you first water cool your system. You'll want to turn on only the power supply and water cooling components for about 2 days to check if there are any leaks. That way you can find and fix any leaks you may have without shorting your motherboard, GPU, CPU or anything else withing waters reach.
