I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but you do realize that any software that is made to rip dvds is illegal, right?

I'm not trying to be rude either, but if I may, you too are incorrect. DVD ripping software is not illegal. As long as you only use the DVD ripper to back-up your personal collection of DVDs that you already own, (Bought legally, not rented or anything.) it is perfectly legal to use this software. In short, as long as you are not infringing any copyright, (as mentioned above), it is legal.

Although you are right danielemur, most people would take this information, and use this software illegally.

not to be nasty, but you are only half correct, while DVD ripping software is not illegal in most cases, and in some cases even ripping DVDs is not illegal, breaking the encryption on a DVD (most commercial DVDs are encrypted) is illegal, whether you own the DVD or not. If you are caught breaking the encryption on a DVD, having downloaded DVD ripping software would be evidence against you

DVD Fab is free, but it is only a 40 day trial offer. However, sometimes, if you get lucky, it tstill works even after the trial expires

There are many other ways. Try searching in google. It also depends on your computer (PC, Mac, Linux etc...) Check thoroughly, there should be some free downloads. Youtube also can be very usefull when researching these types of things.
