Introduction: How to Write With a Blue or Green Laser Pointer and Take Photos
A simple instructable that will explain how to write use a laser pointer to write on surfaces such as buildings, the ground etc for really cool photos.
Step 1: Camera and Settings
The first thing you need is a decent camera such as this Nikon coolpixs6 from http://www.nikonusa.com
Next is the most critical part in the whole process, set the exposure to around 4-6 seconds.
Step 2: The Laser for Writing
Most lasers will do but it helps if you have a decent quality laser that will not fall apart a few minutes of use. Color is a matter of preference, i personally love blue lasers so i'd go for the Spartan from Dragonlasers at http://www.dragonlasers.com
The beam itself does not need to be visible for the photo, just the beam point. This means you can use low powered lasers during the day and still take effect pictures of laser writing. Dark conditions will give the best effect though.
Step 3: The Writing Itself
This is the hard part. Depending on the exposure settings in step one, you have roughly 4-5 seconds to quickly write your message with a shaking hand before time runs out.
The first few attempts will be a mess so give yourself time to practice and you'll get some pretty amazing results.
