Introduction: How to Clean Canon Sd1000 Sensor

Picture of How to Clean Canon Sd1000 Sensor

--

Three years ago to buy this camera, just a couple of days you notice dust, I did my best to clean without disassembly, but I was not successful. Now with the disassembly
tube is again free of dust. :)

I hope they can use this guide on cleaning the sensor.

Tool:
cross screwdriver
blower
swab
masking tape
soft brush
razor

I cleaned four cameras, compact, it was the turn to my spoiled SD1000: (, is my
first instructable so I hope to explain the sensor cleaned. It's simple
the first steps, but when reaching the sensor is where it gets a bit
difficult for the glue with the screws, the worse I'll explain later.

Step 1: Desarmar

Picture of Desarmar

--

with cross small screwdriver, remove the six screws on the camera, trying to do it quietly to avoid scratching the camera if we slide the screwdriver.

Step 2: Parte Trasera

Picture of Parte Trasera

--

Peel off the back of the camera gently, not forcing, this will gently, if jamming is only willing to agitate a little to one side or the other the back.

Step 3: Proteger Pantalla De Rayones Y Polvo

Picture of Proteger Pantalla De Rayones Y Polvo

--

Here we use the masking tape, use it to protect the grease from hands and dust that may have on the environment. Do not press the tape, just gently place a piece on the screen

Step 4: Retirar La Pantalla

Picture of Retirar La Pantalla

--

To access the sensor is necessary to raise a bit the screen, only 90 degrees in order to remove the screws that hold the sensor. For this there is a small ribbon cable that feeds the screen, with tweezers or your fingers, gently pull to disconnect the ribbon cable.

Step 5: Remover El Sensor

Picture of Remover El Sensor

--

Once you have access to the sensor, remove the glue from each screw with a knife, I recommend heating the tip to yield a bit easier to glue. so patient and calm remove the glue. Once done, unscrew the base of the sensor (in picture) and gently lift up to see the sensor and filter (for logistical reasons, I could not keep taking photo).

Step 6: Limpieza Final Y Armado.

--

Once you have access to the sensor, use the blower and if necessary a swab, when using the bulb, be careful not to strain the sensor filter, everything should be done with patience and care.

Since this list, just follow the steps arm backward. To enjoy it again without the specks of dust.

Thank you for this one. I may just get in there and try it. The dust on my sensor is getting worse every week.

very interesting, thanks!
the focusing gears in my SD1000 have not been working well for a long time. Maybe i can get in there and improve it a bit somehow. might just be sand.

it's a big help to see pics of the inside first.
and tips about jumping springs! they can be very surprising.

thanks

a month ago to repair a samsung focus gears, I had a speck of dust
size of a grain of salt, that prevented the movement, was difficult but possible if
you have time and patience. I have not gotten that far with the SD1000 and I hope not do :)

I hope to develop the instructable when I have time
Greetings
