Shouldn't be too hard for some of the people here in instructables to make money modding stuff (NERF guns, Lasers, etc) and creating stuff.   Great post.

I don't know if this is happening often in America, but here in Holland little kids often have a sponsor run on school. They first have to find sponsors at people's front doors, and then get sponsored for for example 50 cents per a round of 400 metres. Those sponsors write it down on a paper and add their autograph. They money from all kids together go to a charitable organization. If there are some kids up to about 10 years old who are already corrupt they can make a fake professional looking paper from their school, then collecting sponsors "for an orphan house in Zimbabwe" or something. Back at home then take a rubber stamp, and make about 10 stamps on the back of the paper(a stamp counts for having run one round), and after some days return to the sponsors' houses to collect the money. If you're too old and not looking cute enough anymore to do this, you can organize a sponsor run by yourself for a group of children and keep all the money yourself, but in my opinion this goes too far.

Another thing would be to work for Amazon.com's Mechanical Turk You get paid for doing simple things, like transcribing audio to text and the like. It's usually about 75 cents to $2, but it adds up.
