nice... a simpler way to detect IR, simply place the transmitter in front of a digital camera...i use this method to check for worn out LEDs ;)

On one of my remotes I could see the IR emitting LED actually emitting visible red light in very high speed pulses, maybe it's wavelength was close enough to visible light that you could see that anyways on it.

Great idea dude, you can also check if your remote is working by pressing a button and pointing it towards the lens of a digital camera and looking through the viewfinder, the lens on digital cameras can see IR light
