I usually do this recipe as a fruit cake using slightly different ingredients. Since it isn't really the season for fruit cake & the mere mention of it often frightens people away I decided to tweek the recipe & try something a little more alluring to the general public.

In case any of you are wondering Icebox is term used to refer to a fridge so in other words...this is a no-bake brownie.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups of chocolate crackers/ cookies (not cream filled)
1/2 can of sweetened condense milk
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup carmel bites (In hind site I think chopping up carmels would be nicer, the bites are supposed to be baked so they were not a good choice. I thought they were a bit crunchy & awkward to cut through)

INSTRUCTIONS:
Using a food processor chop the cookies into fine crumbs. Mix together the cookie crumbs, pecans, and carmel. Then add the sweetened condensed milk. You can then either roll it into a log using plastic wrap, or you can press it into a plastic wrap lined mini loaf pan. Add additional layers of plastic wrap to the outside of the log or the loaf pan. Refergierate for at least 24 hrs. This allows the milk to be absorbed and to set. Then remove & slice with a sharp knife.

After all is said & done I still like the fruit cake better despite it's reputation. My kids however favored these brownies. I think it's a little rich for my blood.

Susan Strong does it again! This looks AWESOME :) Yeah, those little caramel nubbins can be quite tough---easy enough to chop up the regular caramels :)<br>
Thanks! Food isn't my &quot;strong&quot; suit ;) I didn't really think the carmels through. Oh well, now I know for next time :)
