If the matches rub together in your pocket they will light. Coat them with wax first, this will stopthe movement and also waterproof them at the same time.

Safety matches will not rub together and start burning. There is no phosphorus in their heads. The phosphorus is put on the striker portion on the package.

This is great. As you said there are no matchbooks in Australia (that I could find) so this would be perfect for taking on camping trips, etc.

nice one! i made something similar years ago that was only as wide as 1 striker panel, and held 5 matches in a plastic backing, but i like this more. i like it
