An amusing, three-legged robot named 'Inchie'. Feel free to copy or change him. I don't care if you 'republish' him. Please be patient with the movie. It takes a while to load after you click on it.

Hi! i made this wonderful machine but it seems my motor is unable to lift the legs and the motor is the exact same motor as yours! Please HELP!!!!!!!!!
robotmaster (author) in reply to Tmbo17932Sep 17, 2008. 3:19 PM
I dun know, all I can think of would be to try changing the batteries
Tmbo17932 in reply to robotmasterSep 19, 2008. 5:06 AM
is by any chance the purple motor stronger or faster than what ive got wich is a grey motor?
robotmaster (author) in reply to Tmbo17932Oct 12, 2008. 10:40 AM
Oh, you have the gray motor. try my other design. The gray motor is fast, but gutless, it has no strength. the purple motor is slower, and stronger. Just click on my picture, and you can see the other model.
Tmbo17932 in reply to robotmasterNov 7, 2008. 10:22 PM
ok. i have now got a green motor is that as strong as purple motor?
mettaurlover says: Sep 16, 2008. 5:19 PM
i'm gonna extend the leg turners, and use shock absorbers in the legs.
kennyboy 2 says: Sep 3, 2008. 1:24 PM
this is kenny boy 2 saying this is a awsome design and i have one simaler to it and i have a knex dragger that grags its self all over and i am posting them soon!!!!

Thanks, I've got a few other robots, do you think I should post them too?
Bartboy in reply to robotmasterMay 15, 2008. 6:36 PM

Hi Spence, love the pic.
Itsgoofytime says: May 12, 2008. 8:35 PM
You could really fix this up. You could include how many parts needed and much more through pictures.
knexguy in reply to ItsgoofytimeMay 14, 2008. 8:32 AM
Do you mean 'thorough'?
robotmaster (author) in reply to knexguyMay 15, 2008. 7:23 AM
I don't follow
knexguy in reply to robotmasterMay 15, 2008. 10:11 AM
He put 'much more through' and I was asking if he meant thorough. You can tell if someone is replying to someone other than you because their comment is staggered.
robotmaster (author) in reply to knexguyMay 16, 2008. 3:47 PM
Sorry.
robotmaster (author) in reply to ItsgoofytimeMay 13, 2008. 3:19 PM
Well, actually, I thought that since it was a simple design it wouldn't really matter, but then again I might do just that, thanks!
I_am_Canadian says: May 13, 2008. 7:31 AM
I like it! Im not toadally sure it would qualify for the robot contest, but, well, you have my vote!
robotmaster (author) in reply to I_am_CanadianMay 13, 2008. 3:09 PM
I didn't think so either, but it doesn't hurt to try, right?
Bartboy in reply to robotmasterMay 15, 2008. 6:35 PM
If you think so...
I_am_Canadian in reply to robotmasterMay 13, 2008. 4:53 PM
Thats true....
ojochris in reply to robotmasterMay 13, 2008. 4:10 PM
Hell yea!
popomaster says: May 12, 2008. 8:09 PM
u could make a tiny version =] it would rotate faster and have a little more toque as the thing gets lighter and so does the weight of the arms. that would be so cool *having an army of "inchies" more like centimeteries for the tiny ones
robotmaster (author) in reply to popomasterMay 13, 2008. 3:27 PM
If you want to make it smaller, it's actually quite simple, just a 'down-grading' of a few pieces. My motor doesn't really show a big difference in how fast it moves due to weight on it. If it get too loaded down it stops and 'clicks'. It either rotates or it doesn't. As for making it smaller, I've always been doing some work on it to try to improve it, I just chose to put the original one on here. This is only my first Instructable.

A K'Nex device that I actually like! Well done! A video would be nice...any chance?
robotmaster (author) in reply to CameronSSMay 13, 2008. 3:12 PM
Actually, I borrowed my sister's camera to take picures. She's been nice. I might be getting a digital camera for my birthday, so, to answer your question, yes, there is a chance
PKM in reply to CameronSSMay 13, 2008. 2:51 AM
Ditto... K'nex is good for something, it seems. I agree, a video would be desirable, and maybe more thoughts on how you could extend or modify the design? I'd be tempted to call the unnamed bit a crankshaft.
robotmaster (author) in reply to PKMMay 13, 2008. 3:17 PM
Crankshaft it is! I don't completely understand what you mean by modify it, but I'll try to answer. I actually made one with two legs instead of three, but that's another instructable(archie). It doesn't necessarily walk, but rather wobbles. I'm still working on one that actually stands on one foot at a time. Otherwise you could put simplified guns on it, just as long as you keep it balanced.
