Introduction: Incredible Edible Highly Nutritious Play-Slime

We've all been there - you want to give your kids something that feels disgusting to play with so they can make age-appropriate snot-jokes while they are still age appropriate, but you worry that if they accidentally eat their play-slime, they could get sick.*

Fear no more! By harnessing the extremely odd abilities of chia seeds to produce mucus-like goop, you can create your own nearly flavorless, edible and highly nutritious play-slime at home!

Start by grinding 1TBS of chia seeds into a powder using a coffee or spice grinder.
Add water and stir. Break up clumps with the back of a spoon and continue to add water when it has all been soaked up and converted to slime.

That's it. Give it to your kids. Encourage them to eat it. It's high in fiber!

With that same slime starter, you can also make brownies without eggs or oil. No joke. Take the slime, add flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder and chocolate chips and vanilla extract, mix well and throw it in the oven. Super easy, low fat, vegan (depending on the chocolate chips) brownies. You win. You're a good parent.

*I've never been there. I am not a parent but on the flip side, I make what are no longer age appropriate snot jokes routinely.
