A carved dragon's head turns in the direction you're steering. It also has two LED lights for Eyes, one green and one red as required for night riding.

Fabulous work, I only wish I could see more of the boat itself, front side, back & top. Your design is really creative. Details like how you covered and sealed everything, woodworking, etc. would be nice.

The electric motors are cross linked to a steering handle on the seat. When the rear motor moves left the front one moves right. Sharp turns are possible. Even turning in place.

the maidenhead (your figurehead) is supposed to go fore of the forecastle area...i.e. the bow of the boat/ship..as well as the lighting.

well, this isn't her majesty's royal navy exactly. But you're right. anyway it's not a maidenhead.. it's just a dragon head mounted on the boat. Besides for it to turn it had to be directly above the front motor. The lights by regulation are supposed to be in front and visible 180 degrees.. mine aren't. They're neat as eyes though. If I'm stopped I'm going to say "really!".
