Indestructible Binder by cowscankill

Step 5: Connecting the Spine

This part is kind of tricky... you can use any method you want to.
I originally was going to use chainmaille links, but I would have to drill a hole every 6mm for that to work... and do it four times.
Then I was going to use hinges, but I didn't have enough to cover the whole spine.
So my last idea was to use some fake leather material I made before and rivet the binder together.

I screwed up multiple times. Try to not screw up like I did.

Nicely done! I like the leather hinges, very clever, silent, & durable. It also looks like you rounded all the corners of the aluminum so they don't snag or cut through a backpack. Great extra step.

It looks good but I wouldt call it indestructible as the faux leather will surely fray and need to be replaced. You might consider trying a couple of small metal hinges.

Make faux leather is made almost with the same process as micarta, just not as much cloth or resin. It will cut if it rubs on a metal edge or something, but I doubt it will fray for a long time.
