Just to let everyone know, Voxelmap is the new version of Rei's Minimap and Zan's Minimap. The other mods still exist, byt they are not updated for the newest minecraft version. This mod will work on any server or single-player world, if you have cheats enabled in single-player or if you have the permission to use the /tp command on servers. In this guide I will be showing you how to install Voxelmap on Minecraft 1.7.10 with the required software. Links for downloads are included. Everyone should be able to follow all the steps. High-Quality screenshots will make sure you can understand what I am doing.

Step 1: Going to the Profile Manager Tab

Click on the 'Profile Manager' tab in your Minecraft Launcher.

Step 2: Creating a New Profile

Right-click anywhere inside the profile manager window and select the 'New profile' option.

Step 3: Configuring the New Profile

In the window that pops up, make sure that the minecraft version is set to 'release 1.7.10'. If not, select the option from the drop down menu.

Step 4: Saving the Profile

To save your profile, click on the 'Save' button in the bottom-right corner.

Step 5: Selecting Your Profile

In order to select the profile you have just created, click on the dropdown menu and select your new profile. If you forgot the name, you can go back to the profile manager window and find your new profile in the list. Then you can select the right one in the dropdown menu as shown in the picture.

Step 6: Checking Your Minecraft Version

If you followed the previous steps correctly, you should see that you are running Minecraft 1.7.10 when you press the play button. If not, go back to the previous steps and try again.

Step 7: Downloading the Liteloader Installer

Liteloader is another mod that is needed in order to run Voxelmap. This means that if you do not install Liteloader, your Voxelmap won't work. You can download the Liteloader installer from the official Website: http://www.liteloader.com/download Make sure that you download the 1.7.10 EXE version!

Step 8: Installing Liteloader

To install Liteloader, run the file you have downloaded in the previous step. By default it will be saved in your Downloads folder. Run the file by double clicking on it or right click on it and select 'Run' or 'Open'.

Step 9: Installing Liteloader Into Minecraft

In the installer window, select the 'Install Liteloader (reccomended)' option. and then hit the 'Ok' button.

Step 10: Confirming the Installation

When you have pressed the 'Ok' button, wait for the installation to finish. When the installation has been completed successfully, the following message will show up. You can press the 'Ok' button to close it.

Step 11: Downloading Voxelmap

Before installing voxelmap, you need to download the mod itself. You can download it from the following website: http://www.mediafire.com/download/b5e5kfden8o55lc/mod_voxelMap_1.2.0_for_1.7.10.litemod You need to press the download button to download voxelmap.

Step 12: Navigating to the Mods Folder

Now you need to go to the folder where you will be installing Voxelmap. To do this, you press the windows start button and type %appdata% and then press enter (Win 7 and Vista), or you hold down the windows key and R on your keyboard at the same time and type %appdata% in the box that shows up and press the 'Ok' or 'Run' button.

Step 13: Selecting the .minecraft Folder

In the Windows Explorer window that shows up, you want to open the .minecraft folder by double clicking it or right clicking it and pressing the 'Open' button.

Step 14: Selecting/creating the Mods Folder

You are now in your Minecraft folder. Here all you minecraft data is stored, so be careful and don't mess with anything, unless you know what you are doing. Since we do know what we are knowing, we can just continue. Open the mods folder, or create one by right clicking and pressing the 'New' tab and selecting 'Folder' in the menu that shows up.

Step 15: Installing Voxelmap

In the mods folder you want to paste the Voxelmap file you have downloaded in the previous steps. The voxelmap file will be saved in your downloads folder by default if you lost it. You can always download it again if you really lost it. You can do this by going back to the previous steps.

Step 16: Selecting/creating the Voxelmap Profile

In order to activate Voxelmap, we need to select the right profile. Simply select the 'Liteloader 1.7.10' profile in the list or create one. If there is no Liteloader profile in the list, you need to create one. You can do this by simply pressing the 'New profile' button. In the window that shows up you need to name your Liteloader profile (I named it Liteloader) and select 'release 1.7.10-liteloader1.7.10'. Then you can save your profile. Make sure you select your newly created Liteloader profile when starting minecraft!

Step 17: Testing Your Voxelmap

When starting Minecraft (with the correct profile) and playing on a world, you will see the welcome message and the voxelmap on your screen! This means you have installed Voxelmap Correctly! Press the M key to open the Voxelmap menu!

<p>Wait. So you DON'T put it in the 1.7.10 folder? If so, WHY AM I SO STUPID!</p>
<p>What do you mean by 'it'? And we all make errors some times XD</p>
<p>It = LiteLoader :)</p>
<p>Can you have Forge and LiteLoader running at the same time because I have other mods which runs on Forge... </p>
<p>It says forge not detected when i ry downloading it with forge...?</p>
You need to install Liteloader, not Forge. This mod is make to work with Liteloader instead of Forge. Please follow the instructions in the guide for more detailed information.
<p>yeah i'm trying to install a minimap of some sort to regrowth in the FTB launcher and I can't find a way to get this to work some help please</p>
<p>i downloaded the liteloader installer and it merged my liteloader with my forge it auto named to profile (LiteLoader 1.7.10 with Forge 10. 13.2.126) i would also like help on installing the shaders mod</p>
<p>I have forge and liteloader installed. I have 2 profile called forge and liteloader automatically installed by the software other than my usual. I run it on 1.7.10 Forge. All my mods run fine on this except this minimap mod. Its in my mods folder. How can i enable this mod?</p>
<p>You are saying you want to run Forge mods and Liteloader mods at the same time? (For example: Shaders(Forge) with Minimap(Liteloader))? If that is the case, please reply to this comment. You basically have to choose the 'Chain to Forge 1.7.10' option when installing Liteloader. Then you have to play on your Liteloader Profile to play with Forge mods AND Liteloader mods at the same time. If this doesn't answer your question or you are still unclear on how to do this, please reply to me.</p>
<p>This is exactly what I'm trying to do. I've got Forge installed, and then installed LiteLoader linked to the correct version of Forge (, but after starting 1.7.10 minecraft, all my Forge mods are there but no LiteLoader. </p><p>However, when I'm launching Minecraft, there is a profile now that reads &quot;LiteLoader 1.7.10 with Forge 10.13.2.1236.&quot; I'm assuming I got Forge and LiteLoader married OK.</p><p>So I guess my question is, is it necessary to start Minecraft WITHOUT Voxelmap but WITH LiteLoader once BEFORE installing Voxelmap?</p>
<p>OK, new problem. I was able to get to the home screen of Minecraft 1.7.10 with a bunch of Forge mods (that I have previously confirmed all work in harmony), and found the little Liteloader tab on the side that confirmed that Voxelmap was also loaded. Yay!</p><p>But now I can't get into any worlds, either ones I've already created or ones that I'm trying to create now. It gets to the big brown screen as it loads, and then just sits there forever, telling me that it's not responding. Without the Liteloader/Voxelmap additions, all of the Forge mods worked together... I'm using stuff like Mekanism, TConstruct, Thermal Expansion, OpenEye, OpenBlocks, Biomes o'Plenty, Mapwriter and a few others. Since Voxelmap is a client-side mod, I would think I would have no problem getting into worlds I'd already created... but I can't do that or even create a new world!</p>
<p>I believe you have to select you liteloader profile. NOT your Forge or Liteloader with Forge profile. Which ones have you tried so far? About the worlds not loading: maybe a mod that you used in that world isn't loaded or you removed it, which leaves unknown items/blocks in your Minecraft save. Try the Liteloader profile (NOT Forge or Liteloader with Forge) and tell me if that works or what problems occur. And yes, you need to start Minecraft once with Liteloader installed WITHOUT Voxelmap loaded before first use. And Liteloader and Forge both have a different folder for mods. So Voxelmap needs to be in the Liteloader folder, not in the Forge folder. </p>
<p>You are saying you want to run Forge mods and Liteloader mods at the same time? (For example: Shaders(Forge) with Minimap(Liteloader))? If that is the case, please reply to this comment. <p>it works alot better for me if i extract the jar, and place it in the mods folder with zans mod. this way, you dont have to create another profile.</p>
<p>If you already have Liteloader installed, that is also an option. In the tutorial I didn't assume everyone had it, and tried to make it as easy as possible.</p>
<p>why is the waypoints can't be use at the survival world?</p>
<p>What do you mean by 'can't be used'? If you mean you cannot teleport to them, then it's likely you have cheats disabled for that world. In order for the teleport function to work, you need to ave cheats enabled.</p>
<p>Thabks for that...I was trying to figure out why teleport was disabled for me as well</p>
<p>I did it all right just like you said but where did u get the 1.7.10 folder when you were putting voxelmap in? it dosnt work for me sadly</p>
<p>You have to make a new profile, and then you need to start minecraft 1.7.10 before you install anything. By doing this Minecraft will generate the required files and folders to install mods. Then you need to install Liteloader as shown in the tutorial, and start minecraft again, before installing Voxelmap. Then Liteloader will generate the required folders and modify your Minecraft version to support mods. After you've done that, you cann install Voxelmap in the newly generated 1.7.10 folder. So you need to start Minecraft twice before you can install mods. If this doesn't work, I suggest you start over since it looks like you've missed a step.</p>
<p>Thank you for clarifying, it helps a lot</p>
<p>please help</p>
<p>I believe I have answered your comment below.</p>
<p>Would you please make a non mod loader/liteloader/forge version...</p><p>one that I can simply load into my jar file and have ready, like all the old versions?</p>
<p>Untortunately, due to the new minecraft launcher update, this is not possible anymore. In order to install mods you need to do it this way, otherwise your client will fail to launch. Besides, I'm not the author of this mod, so I don't have permission to change it without his permission.</p>
<p>I used Latest 1.7.10 Forge and when I clicked play.. nothing happened.</p>
<p>You need to install Liteloader to use this mod. You can find how to install and download it in the instructable.</p>
<p>using version: release 1.7.10-liteloader 1.7.10-1.7.10-forge10.13.0.1180</p><p>after instaling liteloader and voxelmap mod</p><p>new profile and new version also reboot PC</p><p>i am hung up at.. clicking the play button and nothing happens..</p><p>triple checked all of the steps one by one .. followed instruction by the numbers</p><p>any ideas? ;/</p>
<p>When it works at your friend, try to spot any differences between his and your PC that may have something to do with Minecraft or Liteloader. If you can't find anything, make sure you have the latest version of java installed and you are using the right version of minecraft. If you are using Minecraft Forge and liteloader at the same time, please let me know and I will let you know how to run both Liteloader and Forge at the same time.</p>
thanks for the feedback.. i stumbled thru it a few times and apparently put something in the right spot.. and is working fine now.. thanks<br><br>side note now i just have to get my dang W key to work... hahaha wasd is hell on a gaming machine.. but thats a problem i dont think we can solve here ;o)<br><br>regards,<br>Woodsguide<br><br>
<p>its the java 8 update remove it redownload java 7</p>
<p>My minimap is emty colors dont show up</p>
<p>I suggest you try to reinstall liteloader and Voxelmap. When reinstalling, please pay attention to how to install liteloader and where to place all the files. When this doesn't work, please replyto me again. But reinstalling and paying attention to the steps should fix the issue.</p>
<p>i can see players and animals and stuff but not the ground and landscape works fine for my friend though</p>
<p>I suggest the solution above. When this doesn't work, make sure you have go the latest version of Java installed. You can also check in the Voxelmap menu wether you have the ground disabled. If you are playing on a world with a roof on top to prevent rain and snow from falling the issue may be because of that. When all of this doesn't work please make a screenshot and send it to me in the comments.</p>
<p>The link to download that map no longer exists.</p>
<p>Thank you for pointing that out! I placed a new link in the corresonding step. You can go back to that step or go to his link and continue the tutorial. http://www.mediafire.com/download/b5e5kfden8o55lc/mod_voxelMap_1.2.0_for_1.7.10.litemod</p>

I use Rei's on my survival worlds to waypoint but I want to get zan's to tp to them
<p>You can teleport to your waypoints by pressing the Voxelmap menu key (M by default) and clicking the 'Waypoints' button in the menu. Then you can select one of your waypoints and choose the 'Teleport to' option. You will be teleported to the location of your waypoint. Please keep in mind that this will only work if you have permission to use the /tp command. This means that if you have cheats disabled on your single-player world you cannot use the teleport option. On servers you will need to either be an op or have the right rank/group.</p>
That's cool. Would it work on servers that don't support voxelmap though?
<p>This mod will work on any server. This is because Voxelmap is a client-side mod (thit means that only your minecraft notices it). Some servers don't like it when playes use this mod though, but they can't disable it. </p>
