i have a 2nd hand hp pavilion ze4200 laptop that runs xp, is it possible to run mac os x 10.2 on that?
Apr 23, 2011. 8:46 PMepicnoobpwn says:
No. Mac OS X 10.3 and below only support Power PC CPUs. Tiger is the earliest version of OS X to support Intel CPUs.

is there any mac os that i could open and run off a 2gb usb ????
Aug 4, 2010. 2:17 PMjunits15 says:
no but you can legally run mac os server inside virtualbox on a windows machine, you just need a ton of ram and a really powerful processor

what if you have an AMD processor? Mine says "MMX (+), 3DNow! (+)" in CPU Z
BTW my processor is an AMD Athlon MP. AKA Thoroughbred
May 28, 2010. 6:22 PMdannydutton says:
My AMD specifically mentions SSE (1,2,3). If SSE does not appear on cpuz, I would safely assume that yours does not support it. You can try installing it though if you really want to.

Love this guide! Noticed it a little to late though.

I installed Hackintosh on a custom PC around a week or two ago. I have one problem though, the sound and internet (onboard, non-wireless) drivers dont work.Major suckage, considering I was going to use it to compose music and mix. All I really need is the sound. Would you know how to fix that?
May 20, 2010. 6:40 PMSponzyparadox says:
Did you check for a mac driver for your soundcard? to see if it is even Mac compatible

so are you saying that if I follow these steps and use "JaS 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3" dvd/iso that i could install OSX onto my AMD Athlon computer?
Sep 8, 2008. 9:59 PMmossDboss says:
Before any of you attempt this DO SOME RESEARCH. Check of system/hardware compatability. More than likely if you did not know about booting OSX to your PC you will not have a clue about how to manually install the proper drivers. If your monitor is ATI Mobility Ratheon 7500, you will have to manually install the drivers for it. Which means you will have to know how to use Terminal. Also, it means you will have to find the proper driver package. Booting OSX on a pc does work, but it is not as simple as just creating a partition, booting OSX. It would be great if this instructable showed how to use terminal to load drivers using terminal.
May 26, 2009. 10:52 PMtanmanknex says:
actually it is. there's a few programs out there that call themselves one-clicks. you download it, make a partition, put the disk in, turn it off, turn it back on, and boot from disk. simple as that.
May 26, 2009. 10:48 PMtanmanknex says:
a good way to partition and get around the pesky access denied phase is to DEFRAGMENT THE FREE SPACE. it's very simple, and it works. go into a third party defragmenter (AKA defraggler) and defragment the free space under file. then go into the vista defragmenter and try again. if it doesn't work, then make sure you defragmented the entire free space so there's no fragments. it doesn't matter if you have fragments in the main drive, only the free space, though it's a good idea to defragment the used space, too.

These guides all suck. How about a guide which actually takes you step by step through creating a Hackintosh with a LEGAL VERSION OF LEOPARD? Jas et al aren't rocket scientists. Instead of saying download Jas or whomever, how about a guide on making you own Jas? These Leopard DVDs have been out a long time now. Hasn't anyone anywhere written up a step by step guide with links based on starting with a legal DVD? I'd happily pay for that information.

The only way it would be legal if you purchased Leopard first... but I could post up an Instructable if you want. I know how.

I installed Mac using the JaS 10 DVD on my HP Pavilion dv9700t. However, when I turn it on, it says loading Darwin/x86 and then goes to the Apple loading screen, but then it grays out and says "Turn your computer off hold the Power button for 4 seconds" or something like that. It never gets past that point. I looked online and on real Macs that usually indicates hardware failure (I'm guessing hardware incompatibility in my case?). Does Mac have a "Safe mode" of sorts to work on the hardware or drivers?
