Introduction: Installing Washing Machine in Wardrobe

Too small bathroom

My tenant's wanted to install washing machine in my apartment but bathroom is too small for that. So I did discuss options with my apartment complex manager and he agreed to this project. Tenant's had this closet which they sold to me so I could modify it for their washing machine.

In this short instructable I will show you how I did this.

Remember that depending of your washing machine there's maximum allowed length for hoses. Check those measurements.

Please, comment if you have any questions.

Step 1: What You Need

You will need

  • Drill & boring bit
  • Water inlet & outlet hose
  • Hose adapter
  • Retainging rings
  • Wire manager case
  • Spill tray
  • Screwdriver
  • Wrench
  • Assistant

Optional

  • Water detector alarm

Please note! Socket for washing machine was installed by professional electrician.

Step 2: Adjusting Your Wardrobe

Make holes for inlet and outlet hose in the corner of the wardrobe. I did also install plastic sheet under and behind it.

Step 3: Hide and Protect

For hiding and protecting hoses I did install them in wire manager case.

Step 4:

I recommend to install spill tray to avoid water damage. If connections will leak spill tray will bring water in front of the closet and you will be able to detect it. I also installed water detector alarm so if there will be a leak tenants can react asap.

Step 5: Connect

In this small apartment connections for inlet and outlet water was near the closet under the sink.

Use for outlet hose adapter and retaining rings. Make sure they are connected tightly.
Install inlet hose with your wrench. Connect hoses to your washing machine.

Step 6: Test It

Open water and confirm that connections aren't leaking. Wash ya clothes!
