 by =SMART=

This is an instructable showing you how you can make your very own Instructables Robot model
i used photoshop elements to create the net for the model and to colour it and add details, overall this took me about a day to design but it will only take you about 5-10 minutes to make

I hope you enjoy it !

DANG!!! I JUST finished the body.

JUST

FINISHED IT!!!

Well not just now, like, I'm saying:

I JUST FINISHED IT, and GUESS WHAT?!?!

My brother comes, grabs his and kind of squishes it (badly), and he was like "what's this?". He's 15. MAN I GOT SO MAD, IT WAS LIKE BROKEN!!! Then I crumpled it up and now I'll have to do it again.

I finished mine awhile ago, but forgot to post pictures. I used the pictures I already had from my sandwich contest. I glued everything together, then put a toothpick in (I didn't have any paperclips). That's why his head is smooshed. I tried to force the toothpick in, and it smooshed his head. Poor robot...

Haha that's awesome ! Don't worry about the head, the paper is flimsy and hard to keep straight, I had to poke mine around for a while too :P Thanks for the picture !
kcls in reply to =SMART=Jun 27, 2010. 1:16 PM
No prob! I made one from card stock a month or so later, but I threw it away because it didn't have as much character as this one :D

2/5..   a bit confusing.. ADD BLACK OUTLINES makes it a lot easier to cut...

When printing use a photo editor and select invert colours.

Thank you! You made a really fun instructable, and it got my little grey cells going , on a cold winter night (-14 degree celcius). Can you possibly think of  a 3D cake pattern in the future??? :0)

Cool Robot in a retro tinplate kind of style.

You need to make some fierce Robot accessories to make you famous like:
  • KFC bucket helmet and guee-tar
  • vintage leather flying helmet and googles
  • Killer Union Jack jock-a-lope thongy thingy, he probably wears them to remind that something is always riding up on him.
=SMART= (author) in reply to caitlinsdadJun 14, 2008. 1:22 AM
lol Im allready working on templates for the KFC bucket and the goggles and hat, but thanks for reminding me about the Britain thong :D ill post the accessories later :P

#2 son wants a white outline version, so he can colour it and draw extra bits on himself. (Apparently I'm still going to be glueing it, though...)
=SMART= (author) in reply to KitemanJun 14, 2008. 5:09 AM

I know it's upside down. I did it on purpose..well, kinda. I accidently put the slits for the "Bucket" on the wrong side and when I looked at it, it sorta worked for the "settings" =]
