One of my least favorite (and most frequent) moments is when I unplug a cable from a device on my desk (e.g., USB cable, camera connecter, charger, etc.) and it falls into the chaos of cords and objects writhing on the floor.
From this moment a mixture of regret and dread arises for the next time I have to bend to the floor, fish through this chaos, and elevate the cord back to the level of the device resting on the desk -- sometimes even having to feed it up and behind the desk if I want the cord relatively hidden.
This nuisance can be fixed with just a couple of binder clips!
Step 2: Clip
Clip the binder clips to your preferred edge of the desktop.
The best side is usually the back of the desk since this orientation uses the desk to hide the wires.
Step 3: Feed Cords Through Clips
Feed each cord through the largest side of the clip arm.
Clever maneuvering is key here. These two tips will help:
i) Slip the cord head through the clip arms sideways
ii) If the cord head is still too large for this, you can remove the clip arm from the clip, put the cord within the top clip arm, and then reattach the clip arm.
Step 4: Done!
Your desktop is ready to be less cluttered and you are now saved from dropped and misplaced wires.
