This weave is terrifyingly simple and pretty straightforward so dont be afraid to try it. i first came up with this weave while writing notes in class, right after i got home from school i dusted off my ring box and began. my overall goal with this weave to to make a new book bag. so enjoy the weave, please leave feedback so i know if theres anything i need to change on my ible'.

rings and sizes:

.5" wide
16 gauge
your going to need alot of them

Step 1: Lets Get Started

ok unlike most Japanese weaves this only requires one size ring.
it helps to make a ton of four ring mobius balls before you get started because it takes forever to make a ball, attach it, make a ball, attach it, and so on and so forth.

so anyway you start with two mobius balls. that consists of four rings each. to make a mobius ball refer to:   http://www.mailleartisans.org/articles/articledisplay.cgi?key=8588

Step 2: Link Them

to link them all you do is attach them with a single ring to start, then you add another ring to the link but instead of linking them side by side, you feed the second ring through the first ring so that if sort of forms another mobius that consists of two rings.

Step 3: Continue On

after you get the basic feel for how they link together it becomes very routine. and you can make anything with this weave, but it is very heavy i have a sheet that is about 19x12 that weights about a pound. but since this is not my first chainmail book bag im used to a heavy load on my back. but i hope you like this weave and i will be sure to post a picture of my finished project as soon as it is

i will then post an update to join kings maile to this as soon as i can
Whoa, that's tight! Looks like it would be extremely heavy when scaled up... I guess it depends on the ring size and material, eh?<br>I still need to start on my chainmailled shirt. Ha...
yes depending on the material it is very heavy that sheet was made of galvanized steel and weighed about 8 pounds. but im sure if it were aluminum it would be pretty decent.
pretty cool!
thanks :)
for all to enjoy
