Jarreth from "The Labyrinth"

Jarreth from "The Labyrinth"
This was the costume I "made" for Halloween last year for my little brother. We have a tradition of always assembling costumes from thrifted items and it's always a delight to see how they turn out. Unfortunately, I never think to take pictures in the process, but I thought I'd show you guys how the final costume turned out anyway!

Hopefully, you've seen the awesomeness that is The Labyrinth. My brother decided to be David Bowie's character, Jarreth. And it was full of awesome.

We bought his wig on ebay. Everything else was either made or thrifted. He wore women's boots for the costume, but I bet you Bowie did too. ; ) I did his make up with everyday cosmetic and assembled him a cool scepter thingy. Enjoy!

Nice! Although to be Labyrinth worthy the tights need to be tighter. Labyrinth is my favorite movie of all time.

I wouldn't consider Labyrinth not a popular movie. Practically everyone I know watched it growing up.

The contact juggling was actually the whole reason I rented that movie. I was kind of disappointed that all the contact juggling consisted of was a butterfly in the beginning and some palm spinning later on. As for the rest of the movie, I found it to be strange and disjointed muppet movie...

but the impressive part of the contact juggling was that it actually wasn't his hands. the Guy doing it was actually kneeling behind him and couldn't see what he was doing.

What is that plastic thing 'round his wrist? :) I wonder how many people will get that costume. It was a great movie--one of my favorites--but not a very popular one. (Trivia about the movie--The Dancing Doctor from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Gates McFadden, was the choreographer for Labyrinth.)
