Introduction: Jeannie's Turkey Bread

Step 1:

Ingredients:

Dough

5 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 packages active dry yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
1/2 cup warm milk
2 tablespoons margarine or butter

Step 2:

Filling

4 cups cooked turkey (chopped)
3 cups grated cheese (like mozzarella and cheddar)
8 pieces cooked bacon (cut into small pieces)
1 onion (chopped)
2 eggs

Step 3:

In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
Add water, milk and butter and mix well.

Step 4:

Turn onto well-floured surface, knead until smooth and elastic, approximately 5 minutes.

Step 5:

Place in a greased bowl, turn to grease top.  Cover with plastic wrap and put in a warm place to rise, until doubled, about an hour.

Step 6:

Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix turkey chunks, bacon, cheese and onion.
Take 2 eggs and mix them in a small bowl.  Stir into turkey mixture.

Step 7:

Punch down dough.  Divide in half.  

Step 8:

Take half of dough and roll out into a rectangle, approximately 9 x 13 inches.

Step 9:

Spoon half of filling onto dough.

Step 10:

Fold dough over filling and pinch to seal.

Step 11:

Flip bread over and place on cookie sheet pinched side down.  Put someplace warm and let rise again for approximately 45 minutes.
Repeat with other half of dough and filling.

Step 12:

Bake in oven at 375 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown.  Bread will sound hollow if tapped.

Step 13:

Slice and serve with salt and pepper.  ENJOY!!!!!
