Ingredients:

Cherry jelly powder
Orange jelly powder
Maraschino cherries with stems*
Lemon lime pop
Vodka
Grenadine (optional)

Mix 1 cup of boiling water with the cherry jelly powder. Stir until completely dissolved. Add 1/2 cup cold vodka, 1/2 cup cold water and a bit of grenadine (grenadine optional). Pour the liquid into mini muffin tin, filling them up half way.

Cut the bottoms off of the cherries so they stand up and place one in each muffin cup. Chill in the fridge until set.

Mix 3/4 cup of boiling water with the orange jelly powder. Stir until completely dissolved. Add 1/2 cup cold vodka, 3/4 cup lemon lime pop. Pour the liquid into the mini muffin tin, on top of the cherry jello, and chill in the fridge until set.

To easily remove the jello shots from the muffin tin warm up the bottom of the tin by setting it in warm water.

Enjoy watching your friends attempt to tie the stems with their tongues!

*Maraschino cherries with stems are really hard to find in Ontario, I finally got mine from Bulk Barn but they told me they don't always carry them so be sure to call in advance.

This is a home shot. In transit, it will break down.

If you wanted more transportable versions, you could try making them in orange peels.

So the Shirley Temple I spired shots are 1/2 cherry & 1/2 orange, per shot? Or did you make one 1/2 of the batch cherry and the second 1/2 of the batch orange? The final steps were a bit unclear as you specify the fill the cups only 1/2 full of the cherry liquid & place the cherries. You specified to fill the cups (not sure if you meant the same cups) 1/2 full of the orange liquid, not saying whether the orange goes on top of the cherry, as you also made no mention of adding the cherries to the orange liquid (which leads me to believe both flavors get added to each cup).

Sorry, I hope this didn't come across as knitpickey, I just wanted to be certain of how to make these as they look amazing & sound delicious. :)

Also, did you use a standard cupcake pan or minicupcake pan?

Thanks for the questions. I'll see if I can't make the instructions are little clearer.

I used a mini muffin/cupcake pan.

The shots are one layer of cherry with a layer of orange on top. The colours are so similar it's hard to see the two layers in the photos.
