Introduction: Jewelery Drawers From Puzzle Boxes

Hello everyone,

We made a jewelery drawers from puzzle boxes which we collected.

Of course the challenge is making puzzles (=

Ps: The craftmanship is not good enough because the sewing machine is broken right now /=

Step 1: Materials

Wood pieces are 4 mm plywood.

White pieces are 2 mm mdf.

Hinges

Superglue

Wood glue

Fabric for inside of boxes

Leather for covering boxes

Wooden stick 15mm thickness

3 x 500 pieces puzzle boxes

3 x 1000 pieces puzzle boxes.

Step 2: Building the Drawer Cases

Large Box;

-Attach to plywoods with superglue and then apply wood glue to make it strong.

-After attaching 4 sides each other, paste back side with superglue and wood glue.

-Try drawers you make.

-Attach the legs.

Small Box;

-Attach to plywoods with superglue and then apply wood glue to make it strong.

-After attaching 4 sides each other, paste back side with superglue and wood glue.

-Try drawers you make.

Step 3: Covering Boxes

Leather Cover

-Draw the box template on back side of leather

-Sew it from marked lines

-Cut the flanges

Inside Cover

-Draw the box template on fabric

-Sew it from marked lines

-Cut the flanges

Covering

-Paste the inside cover with glue from edges

-Paste the leather but you should sew the edges before paste.( Our sewing machine is broken after this moment, thats why it looks bad craftmanship.)

Step 4: Organize Your Drawers

You can arrange your organizer according what you keep inside it. We separated it for rings, glasses, necklaces, bracers, earring and watches.

-First image you see is for holding rings, sew from marked lines and done.

-Separate the glass' place with wood sticks.

-Make a extra cushion inside one of the box for attaching your earrings.

Step 5: Making the Handles

We need top part of puzzle boxes to make handles.

Cut the side of the little image of puzzle, if you prefer to cut from outlines of figures, it looks better.

Cut the sticks for handles and paste with images by using superglue.

And cover backside with superglue to make it strong.

(we think the handles are not strong enough. If you have better idea ,we be pleased if you share with us.)

Step 6: Building and Attaching the Top Part

-The top part of jewelery drawers can be opened and closed. It carries mirror inside.

-Paste the wood sticks on backside with superglue.

-Paste mirror inside the box with superglue.

-Attach the mirror part to top box with hinges.

-Make holes on top of the top box and mirror part symetrically.

-Pass the rope inside these holes. Rope should be one part.

-Adjust the length of rope while the mirror part is open. After adjusting the length, cut.

-Tide the rope's ends and paste it with superglue.

Step 7: Attaching the Handles

To attach the handles, we need to another piece of wood for the other side. Because cardboard of the puzzle boxes are not strong to hold the handles with screw. We prefer to use 4 mm plywood.
