This Instructable shows how to sculpt the Joker (Heath Ledger) with glow-in-the dark polymer clay to customize your phone!
First, you will need to find several screenshots of Heath Ledger's joker. Pick the one you like the most, then resize it according to your phone's shell and print it!
Tools and materials:
-"opal green" & glow-in-the-dark polymer clay
-black, red, and beige chalk pastels
-clear nail polish
-a rolling pin
Step 2: How to sculpt the face~
Roll a small amount of phosphorescent clay into a ball and flatten it with a rolling pin. Use a knife to sculpt the jaw line (respect the size of the picture), then smooth the edges with your fingers.Patiently carve the lips with a toothpick and add a few wrinkles around the eyes.Extend the mouth corners by carving a few squiggly lines to sculpt the scars... Take a little more phosphorescent clay to sculpt the nose (make a tiny tear-drop shape, then carve the nostrils) then just add it to the face.
Step 3: Colouring...
First crush the chalk pastels into powder.Use a thin brush to apply the black powder all over the eye cavities, then apply a beige colour on the carved areas (especially on the wrinkles). Apply red colour on the lips and smudge it out with a larger brush, leave a few stains on the scars.
Use the opalescent green clay to sculpt the costume as shown in the pictures.Approximatively sculpt the scalp, then form several logs of green clay to sculpt the hair and stretch them until they're thin enough to form the hair. Add them to the scalp. (The areas highlighted in the picture show where the roots should be implanted.)
Step 5: (Optional)
Slightly paint in yellow all the raised areas & the hair.
Step 6: Bake the clay
~Bake the clay~
(Follow the manufacturer's instructions)
Step 7: Finishing touch...
Apply a thin coat of clear nail polish on your sculpture, then fix it to your phone with some blu-tack...
Have fun with the glow in the dark effect! =)
