Step 6Making the Connection to the Arduino
Of course, if you know what you are doing, you can hook the slippers up to any other circuit or device you have for making use of their variable resistance. So if you don't intend to hook the Joy Slippers up to the Arduino, then you can skip this step.
You will need to be able to solder for this step. Soldering is not hard but I am not going to explain the details. There is a nice Instructable on how to solder right here: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-solder/
MATERIALS you will need to make Arduino connection:
- 4 x 10K Ohm resistor
- Perfboard with copper line patterns (6x6 holes)
- Rainbow wire with 6 cables
- About 25 cm of cable
- Solder
TOOLS you will need to make Arduino connection:
- Soldering iron
- Third hand
- Pliers or some kind of wire cutter
(- Bread-board)
Solder everything together as seen in the pictures and the schematic. If you don't want to solder you can also use a breadboard and plug the components into it.
