Step 2Head and Neck

Head and Neck
The Lespacelie plans include scale drawings for each component of the head (except the sides). I printed out the templates, laid them on the wood and cut away using 1/4" MDF again and glued with hot glue. Each sections was added kinda like a puzzle a little bit at an angle of the sides to create the curve. I filled in and sanded the surface so it looked completely smooth.Placing the neck and tail holes are fairly easy. I fitted a metal bracket in the body to allow a metal tube to be use for the neck. The neck assembly is very simple. A curved metal tube passes down from the head into the body. In the head as you can see there are two stoppers, one top and bottom. If you think they look like old skate wheels that is because they are lol. The lower wheel and top wheel are screwed into the tube so they clamp the head in place. The neck tube wasn't painful to find its just  flexible tubing which I picked up at Lowes. I also glued collars onto the body and head and the neck that the tube will eventually be glued to.

Press board is quite heavy. Try door skin plywood. It is smoother and cleaner too.
