Step 4Eyes and Ears and...

Eyes and Ears and...
The LED's for the eyes were found on ebay (second favorite site, Instructables is the first :P). The LED's are mounted in plastic and set behind.I decided to mount them vertically to give the illusion of cat like eyes. Each will be switchable via RF. The tail was really simple I found a little piece of rubber in the garage and a bit of hollow fiberglass rod. I was able to get the tail to wag very easily with a small servo motor from a cheap toy CCTV camera from ebay. Getting the eye structure completed and yes those are K'nexs. I made the mechanism for the movement of the ears out of K'nex because it is very easy and works well. I used a small motor to drive the mechanism and I will have the correct movement on the ears.

A couple of old speaker grills, a bit of plastic tube and some super glue and we have ears. They are mounted on the Lego technic rod which will engage on the mechanism inside the head to move the ears.

I built an LED chaser circuit to make the top LED's flash randomly and mounted it in the top panel.
