Is it necessary to use the ball joint connectors (row 4)? Is there anything I could use as a substitute instead, or do you need them to build the gun. Same thing with the hinges (I think there hinges) in row 2. Do you need them too? Since my parents won't let me buy special pieces like that it would be nice to know...

i mean the black rods are much stronger/stiff they don't bend as easy as the grey rods which will help the gun preform better under the high tension of the rubberbands so u can add additional rubber bands to the gun for increased power and the gun will preform better which will also allow the gun to shoot better i hope it makes sense for u
