K3 knex pistol. *new* shooting system

K3 is my new knex pistol, it uses a NEW mecanism to prime the gun, instead of pulling back on a firing pin, you simple cock the top slide back. Like a airsoft gun, or a pistol. It does use quite a few pieces... but it is well worth it.

On a scale of 1/10, this is a 2. Sure, it has a cool look, and you load it differently, but: a) Hard to load. If you pull back to far, the slide and ramrod comes off, whipping you in the hand. Also, you usually have to push the trigger into place. b) Bad range. If you DO manage to load it, it has almost no range, even though it goes straight for the floor and skips a few feet. c) It uses 3 rubber bands. for 3 rubber bands, it should go as far as the Fruit Fly. That thigh shoots far. And you only need 2 bands. This thing, goes nowhere slow. d) High k'nex usage. A good gun only needs a few pieces. This went through all of my semi-circles. Overall, don't build it. Keep the creativity, but troubleshoot BEFORE posting it.

The top piece only has twenty two half circles not 24...I see that that can get confusing with all of the pieces. but its a simple mistake I just wanted to point that out to you. and by the way I like the gun it is very nice.

Pretty good mechanism, I like sliding top. Not the best range though to tell the truth... P.s. i recomend using red/metallic green rods for use as ammo.

Ya, the ranges kinda stink...but i got mine to go about 20 feet with only one rubber band... so try using a bigger band :)

ok easy to answer but the more elastic bands you put on it you cant cock it back. the top slide flings off and snaps your fingers off too so the 100 feet you mention is a pure lie only guns with a firing pin which you pull back your self with difficulty, snipers and crossbows can reach that distance, so no you are a lier " i got it to ... um... 100 feet " then " ya the ranges kinda suck ... 20 feet. No fooling me!!! But one thing i have to admit is that it looks very good

thank you. despite using lots of parts i have lots of K-nex to use (i had a childhood obsession with K-nex).

there were two problems. i found that the elastic bands im between the the two slides.

so i atached a V link to the bottom trigger rail on eiter side with a blue pole atached and put the bands around that. this also adds some tension.

i found that the top slide moves about to much so i put a yellow rod through the red rectangle connectors into the top slide to hold it in place.

when i completed it was very "gun like" and i was pulling on it, just not far enough. then in despartion i pulled back quite far and i heard this "chick-chick" noise, really realistic.

also i found that the two grey top slider poles can get james in the white 360* connector, so i found these tnt plunger things from some K-nex worker people and stuck them on the end.

since this i have re-discovered K-nex and have built a large K-nex model of the NX-01 (if you dont watch star treck you wont understand) its pretty good its got turrents and everything.

i think i might put an insturctable on here about how to build it

Clips and magazines are not the same thing. Clips are what are used in the rifles during WWI (M1 Garand). The bullets were linked together by a clips. A magazine is that rectangular object that holds on average 10 rounds. More for high capacity magazines designed for law enforcement like myself. Handguns like the Springfield XD-40 or the common military M-16 uses a magazine.

Wrong again. Paintball is the 3rd largest sport and growing. Second obviously you're not a bowler because the markers do not shoot the same distance. With the variety of power, ie. compressed air, co2, nitro, and the newly introduced propane this causes a difference in distance. Also different barrels can change the factor for distance. The flatline barrel for a Tippmann A5 or the new X7 can change the average range of 100ft to 150ft. You need to just stop bashing things you know little about.

Yes they are different pressures but it doesn't make a difference just because its a different air type. not exaclty, although there are very sligh diffs, magazines ussually go into the handle of the gun, clips are on rifles that attach the clip in the mid of the gun. at least thats how i differentiate them.

a clip is what it actualy is, a clip. For example for and M1 Garand, the bullets have a clip to hold the bullets together. Then they are placed into the internal magazine(the place where the bullets are before they are fired) When the Rifle(M1) has run out of bullets u will hear a "PING" and you will see the clip fly out of the magazine. Gunny Ermey covers the difference in Mail Call on the History Channel if you guys want to check it out.
