Introduction: KEY ORGANIZER

About: I make things in my home shop. YouTube channel link... https://www.youtube.com/derekconwayTX

I make these KEY ORGANIZERS on a regular basis for people. To my knowledge it is original but I'm sure someone somewhere has made one similar to this. This particular one was made for Matt DiResta.

Step 1: CUT, FILE, DRILL.

I use 3mm aluminum to make these.

A template is used to draw the outline onto the aluminum.

Then cut the shape with bandsaw, low speed to avoid heating the blade.

File the burrs and sand both sides with 120 grit sandpaper.

Drill holes on each end.

NEXT STEP...

Step 2: CUSTOMIZE AND BEND THE FORM.

I like to stamp my name with a metal punch set. I stamped DiResta on the other side in this case.

Then bend the organizer evenly and slowly so the drilled holes line up perfectly.

NEXT STEP...

Step 3: ASSEMBLE.

You will need a binding post and flat rubber washers.

Slide rubber washer onto binding post first.

Insert post into outside of one hole in organizer.

Then add another washer, then key, then washer, then key, ect...

I like to add a belt clip. This is very convenient and adds easy access to your keys.

NOTE, the thinner the washer, the more keys will fit into the organizer. Matt DiResta is using three keys so this unit was made for three keys.

Step 4: USE THE KEY ORGANIZER!

Have fun using your key organizer!
