Forget lock picking, clone/copy the key and be a spy

Take a drinks can/tin and cut a rectangle big enough to stick the key to, or any other thin metal. I have included picture of me copying the same key on a drinks can and a fish tin!

Stick 1 cutout key onto it.

thats true, your idea is way better when someone just wants to sit down and make a key, but if anyone was a perfectionist, a file and a blank might be the way to go

Its the way the pros do it, though they use a file designed for keys, it is called a pippin file, learning to use one is not difficult, but learning to read a lock is. Locksmiths usually use impressioning which is creating a key from the lock with a blank rather than copying a key, but it would work for copying.
